Photo Encaustic Cloud Study #7 36" x 48" on Birch Cradled Panel This is my largest Photo Encaustic project so far. It was a challenge but I love the outcome. Welcome to 2022!
It's been almost 1 year since I posted here on the blog. It has been a busy and crazy year needless to say. It's been filled with spending time with Family and Friends as much as I can. Getting out and about trying new restaurants in the area, shopping the flea markets, spending time in the studio honing my craft which in this season is Encaustics. Photo Encaustic
I'm excited to share my latest obsession with you. I love being creative using different Art Mediums and at the moment this is my favorite. It's called Photo Encaustic. The word Encaustic comes from the Greek Enkaustikos which means to burn in and refers to the process of fusing with heat. Encaustic is a combination of beeswax and damar resin, (tree sap in it's rawest form) melted and applied. Wax is a durable material excellent for sealing and preserving. Pausias, a greek painter …

Working in the new Studio
I enjoy working in the studio so much. It has given me a space to be able to meet with clients, paint furniture, work on my Art, read, research, try new Art mediums and just be creative in any way that feels good. The great thing is that if I make a mess I can leave it and close the door. I've had spaces that I'd claim as my own to do the creative things I love, but it was always in the house or the garage.
