I have not signed on to the blog since April. I spend most of my time on Instagram. So if you follow me there please drop by and say Hi! That’s where I post almost daily.
I wanted to share two of my summer projects with you.
My First Garden. I’ve never had a garden before. I was never interested in it. My Dad is an avid gardener. He has been for as long as I can remember and his Dad was. I wish I’d have paid attention and learned from them. But I didn’t and that’s ok. I read and researched and tried my hand. I learned some things along the way and took notes. I was very pleased with my first attempt. I’m now working on a Fall garden. I’m hoping to post the progress here.
Our other summer project was to build a studio/she shed. A place where we can be creative and have friends over to be creative too. A place to leave the mess behind. (The Creative Cottage) I drew up different plans and finally settled on something close to this first picture. The project took about 2 months to complete. It was a bit stressful but when I moved into the space it was all worth it. I’ll be sharing the process of building and decorating the structure soon.
I know we are living in trying times but we have to remember to take time throughout the day to breathe and to be grateful. Grateful for the small things. Family, friends, our health, nature. Stay close to God. Pray often!
I find it helpful to my mental health to have the quiet time with God and myself. To focus on the good, all the things I’m grateful for. I also like to have busy time. Time to be creative. I find when I’m being creative I’m in a flow state where nothing else matters. It’s very therapeutic.
I love sharing projects in hopes that it may light a creative spark within you.
I just started a Youtube channel to do that. My first video is up. Please do me a favor and watch it. If you are so inclined, click the subscribe button and the bell to receive a notification whenever I post a new video. It all helps!
